SUSTAINABLE OFFERINGS

Sage carefully sources several types of yarn that enhance the ability to create sustainable fabrics
based on the needs of each OEM. Experience our sustainable solutions:

POST-CONSUMER YARNS

made from recycled bottles.

BIO-BASED YARNS

partially made out of renewable, raw materials - 30% bio-based resource (MEG) + 70% fossil based (PTA).

POST-INDUSTRIAL YARNS

made from many sources of industrial polyester that have not been sold to the end consumer.

WOOL

high-quality fabric that is thermo-regulated and anti-static.

OCEAN-CLEAN YARNS

protect our waterways and oceans by preventing and removing plastics. There are two ways this is achieved:
1) removing: plastic bottles from our oceans
2) preventing: ocean-bound plastic bottles

REGENERATED WOOL

upcycles waste that’s either destined for a landfill or generated during production.

NON-WOVEN LAMINATION

offers a higher loft and good cushioning properties and adds sustainable value by using a fleece lamination.

ALPACA

only created in untreated color/shades, which saves water and energy consumption.

TAPE WEAVING

utilizes innovative tape materials, woven or knit, to create a handcrafted look; recycled materials can be used.

MONO-MATERIAL, COMFORIO

100% PES three-dimensional knit that connects front and back knitted fabrics with springy threads.

MONO-MATERIAL, FABRIC COMPLEX

100% PES/CoPES fabric complex which can be made out of recycled face fabric, recycled fleece lamination and is united by a CoPES glue.

DINAMICA^®

SUEDE AHEAD

Dinamica is a suede which is produced in part by using recycled polyester (the recycled content varies according to the product line and application) without the use of organic solvents but using a water-based process. This Italian-designed suede is suitable for a variety of applications: seat, back, headrest, armrest, dashboard, rear parcel shelf, door panels, headliner, pillars and sun visor. Miko is Dinamica's brand heritage and continues to play a big role in growing the brand in the EMEA region with production of Dinamica at the Miko plant. Today, Sage has expanded our manufacturing footprint for Dinamica beyond Italy and into North America and China.

Abbeville Plant: 7% reduction in water consumption per yard of Dinamica® product produced

Avalon Plant: reusage of chilled water blowdown to cool and fill cooling tower

Gayley Plant: addition of thermostatically controlled valves to reduce waterflow to what is essential for cooling the air compressors

Sharon Plant: recycling selvage yarn, which is shipped to a local facility that recycles the polyester yarn for other applications

Lerma Plant: active residual water treatment plant that incorporates recycled water into processes
